Who we are 

The Chesney Trust is a charity aimed at raising money to build, maintain and run a secondary girls’ boarding school in Engcongolweni, north of Malawi. 

The school, known as the Edinburgh Girls’ High School (EGHS), is now in its tenth year with a total roll of 194 girls forming a single stream with Forms 1, 2, 3 and 4.

We set up The Chesney Trust for Education in Malawi in 2006 as a registered charity in Scotland. The Trust is also registered as an NGO in Malawi. 

We work with our CEO, Janet Chesney to organise the construction of school buildings and oversee the day to day running of the school.
